Smoke-Permeable Plastic Casings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These plastic casings are made from various highly specialized polymers. They are the first plastic casings that match the properties of fibrous, cellulose, and inedible collagen casings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have the following general characteristics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • High permeability to water vapor, smoke, and to a lesser extent, oxygen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Excellent peelability, especially lengthwise (for slice applications)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • After peeling, they have a very smooth, shiny surface<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Compared to fibrous, cellulose, and inedible collagen casings, they have lower oxygen permeability, resulting in less oxidation and a fresher taste for the product<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • No traces of the casing remain on the sausage after peeling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
